Account Bidding

Bidding is a central feature of Mint Auction, where you can compete for sports memorabilia and sports cards. There are several ways to place bids depending on the auction, and understanding how each method works will help you maximize your chances of winning.

Placing a Max Bid

A Max Bid allows you to set your highest bid limit for an auction item. Once your Max Bid is placed, the system will automatically increase your bid by the smallest increment if another bidder outbids you. Your bid will continue to be updated until your Max Bid limit is reached, ensuring you stay in the competition without having to constantly monitor the auction.

  1. Navigate to the auction listing.
  2. Enter the amount you are willing to bid.
  3. Select the "Max Bid" option.
  4. Confirm your bid.

This method is perfect if you want to set a limit and let the system bid on your behalf automatically.

Using the Quickbids Feature

Quickbids are ideal for placing fast and easy bids. This feature allows you to place a bid with just one click, often at the starting bid amount or the next minimum increment. Quickbids are perfect for last-minute bids or when you want to place a quick bid without entering a specific amount.

  1. Navigate to the auction listing.
  2. Select the "Quickbid" button.
  3. The system will automatically place your bid at the next available increment.

Quickbids are fast and efficient, allowing you to jump in on auctions at any stage.

Submitting an Offer

Some listings allow you to submit an offer directly to the seller. This is a way to negotiate the price for an auction item before the auction ends. If the seller accepts your offer, you can move forward with the purchase.

  1. On the auction listing page, click on the "Make Offer" button.
  2. Enter your offer price.
  3. Wait for the seller to either accept or decline the offer.

Offers are a great option if you prefer negotiating a price rather than waiting for an auction to end.

Buy Now Option

For some auctions, a "Buy Now" option is available, allowing you to purchase the item immediately at a fixed price. This option is perfect if you see an item you want and don't want to risk it being outbid as the auction progresses.

  1. Navigate to the auction listing.
  2. If the "Buy Now" option is available, simply click the button and confirm your purchase.
  3. You will bypass the auction process and immediately secure the item.

The Buy Now option is ideal for serious collectors who don’t want to wait until the auction ends.

Auctions with a Reserve Price

Certain auctions may have a reserve price, which is the minimum price that must be met for the auction to be considered successful. If bidding does not meet or exceed the reserve price, the auction will end without a winner. This ensures that sellers are satisfied with the final bid amount before an item is sold.

If you place a bid on an item with a reserve price, it will not be considered a winning bid unless the reserve price is met or exceeded.

Accepting Terms Before Bidding

Before placing any bids, you are required to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for Mint Auction. This ensures that you are aware of all the rules and guidelines for bidding on the platform.

  1. Before confirming your bid, a prompt will appear asking you to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  2. Review the documents.
  3. Select "Accept" to proceed with your bid.

This step is required for all bids to ensure compliance with Mint Auction’s policies.

Auction Extension for Bids Placed Close to Closing Time

To ensure fair bidding, any auction with a bid placed within 5 minutes of its closing time will automatically extend by an additional 5 minutes. This rule gives all bidders a fair chance to place their final bids and prevents sniping (placing a bid in the final seconds).

  1. If a bid is placed within the last 5 minutes of the auction, the countdown timer will reset to 5 minutes.
  2. This process will continue until no new bids are placed within the last 5 minutes.

This ensures that the auction remains competitive and provides all participants with a fair chance to win.
